Trusting God in the Hardest Moments: Where True Strength is Found

Life has a way of testing us.

Sometimes, the weight of responsibilities, unexpected challenges, and unanswered prayers make us feel like we’re standing in the middle of a storm with no shelter in sight. I’ve been there. More times than I can count. There were moments when I felt exhausted—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. As a mother, a professional, and someone who always tries to be strong for everyone else, I’ve had days when I wondered, God, are You even here? Do You see me struggling?

But here’s what I’ve learned: God is closest when we feel the most lost.

Faith Over Fear

I used to think faith meant feeling strong all the time. But I’ve come to realize that true faith isn’t about never feeling afraid, uncertain, or weak—it’s about choosing to trust God even when those feelings try to take over. When life feels overwhelming, we have two choices:

1. Let the weight of our struggles consume us.

2. Surrender them to God and trust that He is still in control.

Faith doesn’t mean the storm disappears instantly. It means we hold on through the storm, knowing that God is our anchor.

Strength Through Surrender

I used to believe that being strong meant handling everything on my own. But God has been teaching me that real strength comes from surrender—letting go of what I can’t control and holding onto Him instead.

• When the bills are piling up and I don’t know how things will work out, I remind myself: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19

• When I feel like I’m failing as a mother, I hold onto: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9

• When I struggle with self-doubt, I remember: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

God has never failed me. Not once. Even when things didn’t go the way I wanted, He was working behind the scenes, guiding me to something greater.

You Are Not Alone

If you’re reading this and you’re in a season of struggle, please know this: You are not alone, and this moment will not break you. God is still writing your story.

I invite you to walk this journey with me. Let’s be real about our struggles, our faith, and the moments we want to give up. Let’s encourage each other to hold onto God even when it’s hard.
